Models call!!!

My video gear collection is growing. Only need a sturdy tripod, a slider, and a crane. That should be enough to shoot a nice looking video.

In a couple of week, I’m supposed to shoot a “love story” video for a friend.  He and his wife are nice enough to let me “practice” on them. It’s free of course, but it will give me valuable experiences. I’ll be shooting video and photos as well.

This will be my first music video. I’m excited and looking forward to actually doing it. Still  in the process of scouting locations in portland area. I have a couple places in mind, but still looking for more options. The last component would be the weather.

Good bye hv20. I’ll miss you.

Canon HV20

Canon HV20

Today I parted my beloved my Canon HV20 and gave it to a new home (a nun bought it). That little camera has been with me for about 3 years already. It never fail me and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
So now I’m left with the 5d mkii… and no more Canon t1i or hv20….

The ultimate HD camcorder is formed.

The only gripe I have about the 5d mkii is its video functionality, which does not do manual exposure and only support 30fps. However, from what I learn last night Canon has announced that they will fix all that by the next firmware, which allow the 5d mkii to sport the anticipated 24p functionality, along with 29.97 and 720p at 60i. With these upgrades, it will beat its new little brother 7d by a mile, hands down, and possibly, become the best video DSLR in the market now.
